Abigail Hilton BA (Hons) Film and Media Studies 2020

My academic areas of interest are primarily Feminist Theory and Queer Theory, particularly how the two overlap and contribute to the study of intersectionality within film and media products. However, I am interested in how various facets of Representation Studies such as gender, race, sexuality, age et cetera often ignore, subsume, or include others, as I believe all areas of representation are interconnected and systems of oppression cannot be considered singularly.

My photography interest is portraits. My goal for a recent photography project was to photograph people from a variety of backgrounds within Manchester to showcase the diversity of the city.
