Harriet Gascoyne

Harriet Gascoyne BA (Hons) Fine Art 2020

You’re looking at the results of my artistic collaboration in 2020 with a group of amazing people. All of them are core members of the L’Arche Manchester Community.  Over the course of six weeks I ran a series of sixty-minute art workshops with these core members, and their assistants.

The aim of the workshops was to introduce the participants to different art techniques, and to help them to create something that they could feel proud of, whilst hopefully increasing their wellbeing and self esteem.

This work is a celebration of the creative potential, instincts, and abilities of people with learning disabilities, and the contribution that they make to art, our culture and society.
