I have always had an interest in the supernatural and occult, or really just anything unexplainable in the world- be it events or creatures. Spending time researching this is one of my favourite ways to spend time and recently I have had the opportunity to develop it into my work, making my own work a part of the research in a way.

In this project I have been able to look at how unknown or misunderstood beings are perceived, and how these beings have been a source of empathy or able to be related to by people within the LGBT+ community. How the views on these so called "monsters" have evolved to modern day views- where they are almost idolised in some cases.

I have been exploring this through a medium new to me- printmaking. Doing a series of lino prints with a limited amount of colours and layers, but I hope to develop these skills- that what I have done so far is a stepping stone to more complex and detailed prints in the future.
