I am passionate about championing art as an educational resource. Therefore, the national curriculum is at the heart of all my work; I have often found that art subjects are viewed as a pleasant pastime, as opposed to a practical skill. And yet, this subject is considered one of the most effective means of supporting our cognitive development. In fact, the creative arts, is a major part of the Early Year’s curriculum. So, if it is such an essential part of our foundation education, why is there such a stigma attached to the subject? Throughout my final year at university, I have aimed to produce work that encourages creativity, and inspires purposeful play. The images present here, are inspired by comprehensive development and patterns within the thought process, through the use of collage and my own poetry.
