Global Design Camp Quotes

“Before Design Camp I knew it was something I wanted to be involved in. It was a chance to get experience in a global design studio, and I would be using practices that would bring a new skill set to my portfolio post-graduation. I was excited and nervous before we started as it meant working with people I’d never met before, but as the Hong Kong Design Institute students arrived, it was clear that it would be a great week. Everyone was friendly and passionate about the design camp, so we were all off to a good start. By the end of the week I felt like I had been challenged in the best way, and creating something collaboratively that I wouldn’t have been able to do myself. It’s given me a great push in the right direction and has supported me in looking beyond my degree and further into the world of design.”

I applied to be part of the Global Design Camp because it supports individual creative people that sit outside the ordinary propelling meaningful change…

I wonder how an ideal city can be defined. The task seems quite overwhelming I am curious to see how it can be tackled…

I felt nervous at the beginning… but now I feel a general buzz of excitement, and feel so fortunate to be in a room with such talented and wonderful thinkers. It is easy to relinquish control and panic when everyone holds the brief in the same esteem, we are feeling safe with each other and that is wonderful and is the solid foundation for wonderful and promising collaborative work.

We wanted the presentation to be interactive and engaging, to literally take people on a journey. You can have the best idea in the world but if you can’t communicate it, it could slip through the net!… It was great to present to such a wide range of industry professionals, whose feedback is sending us in new directions with firmer footsteps!

Not only great delivery but confidence building…It has been hard work but rewarding. Life changing.”
