George Hustwick BA (Hons) Filmmaking 2020
My name is George Hustwick, I am a 3D visual artist and filmmaker focussing my creative energy to data visualisation and online generative artworks. My work has been thematically drawn towards the current climate surrounding the infamous coronavirus, and looking into the parallels between a country run by digitalism and a country run by fear. As the UK falls deeper and deeper into this (hopefully) shortlived global pandemic, it will be interesting to see how much of a significant effect it will have on Britain’s future.
While researching for this study, I found some interesting works on the notion of ‘Conscious Art’; using the imagery, textures, and mediums of an artwork to discuss and interpret the social perspectives on how we perceive the world around us. As we evolve into an point in time where technology is developing faster than we could ever imagine, what will capture the cultural zeitgeist of this era? Using autogenerated texture and visual coding to evoke a conscious awareness of the work, as well as the time in which the art was created.
