Darcy Owen-Towe BA (Hons) Graphic Design 2020

Hi, my name's Darcy Owen-Towe and I am a photographer, designer, and conceptual thinker. Many of my projects involve often overlooked subjects such as the humble garden snail or the vampire squid. I combine photography, photo manipulation and (sometimes) text to convey these hidden jewels.

I love to explore the underbelly of the natural world and for this particular project, 'Earth to Darcy', I explore the connections between beauty and biology; inspired by strange textures and science fiction comics. I aimed to shine a light on these, often considered disgusting, textures to express that they are actually quite beautiful.
