Hannah Webb BA (Hons) Graphic Design 2020

I’m an illustrator and a graphic designer – the two are intrinsically linked in my practice and influence each other. My love of drawing has led to a hands-on and playful approach to design; I use this to create lively and engaging work.

Save Whaley Pool is a campaign to stop the swimming pool at Whaley Bridge Primary School closing at the end of the academic year.
I’ve created a series of posters to be put up in Whaley Bridge to inform the residents of the possible closure, educate them on the benefits of swimming and persuade them to sign the petition.
The aim is to spread awareness further than the audience of school Mums on Facebook and get the wider community involved.
Alongside some illustrations are shocking statistics about the importance of learning to swim. They contrast with the playful images to get the audiences attention.
The friendly illustrations are more personal and suit the community audience and will appeal to adults as well as children.
The logo makes use of the distinct shape of the pool building which will be recognisable to the residents of the town.
